Tupoho Trust is the legal entity and administrative arm of Te Runanga o Tupoho. On 11th day of September 1991, Tupoho Whānau Trust was incorporated and established under the Charitable Trusts Act to act as a recognised Māori Authority under the mantle of Ngā Hapū ō Tupoho.
Tupoho services the 10 marae and 16 hapū from the lower reaches of Te Awa Tupua through to Tangaroa. These marae and hapū have representatives that form Te Runanga o Tupoho who have an overarching mission of ‘bringing together the strengths of ngā hapū ō Tupoho’, “Whakapumautia te mana ō ngā hapū ō Tupoho”. Their vision is to promote a Te Runanga ō Tupoho culture based upon a knowledge of a shared heritage and an understanding and celebration of cultural distinctiveness. They also act as a collective unified force for the health and well being of ngā hapū ō Te Awa Tupua o Whanganui.
Te Runanga ō Tupoho, Tupoho Trust and Toitū Te Matauranga all operate from Rangahaua Marae in Bell Street; Tupoho Investments, Toitū Te Mahi and Tupoho Housing are currently based at 63 Liverpool st, Tupoho Social Services and the Manaaki Whānau team run from both Tupoho House at 249 Victoria Ave and Te Whare Tirohanga at Carson Street in Castlecliff; All these Tupoho services have one main kaupapa, being:
